Privacy Policy - Escanear Documentos
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-05
This Privacy Policy describes how Escanear Documentos ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the app Escanear Documentos ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your information. Escanear Documentos is a document scanning utility that uses your device camera to capture, crop, enhance, store, export and share documents as images or PDF files.
By installing and using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy. Last updated: August 5, 2026.
Your Documents Stay on Your Device
This is the most important point of this policy: the documents you scan are stored only on your device.
- Captured pages are saved as image files inside the App's private storage area on your device.
- The list of your scans (titles, dates, applied filters, file paths) is stored locally on the device.
- We do not upload, transmit, read, index or back up the content of your scanned documents to our servers or to any third party.
- Documents leave your device only when you choose to share, export, print or e-mail them, and in that case they go directly to the destination you pick (another app, a printer, a contact, cloud storage of your choice).
Because scans are stored locally, deleting the App from your device permanently deletes your scanned documents. We cannot recover them for you.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information needed to operate, improve and monetize a free App. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, address or e-mail address unless you contact us voluntarily.
Data stored only on your device (not collected by us):
- Scanned images and generated PDF files.
- Document titles, creation dates and applied image filters.
- App settings and preferences.
- Your subscription / purchase status cache.
Data collected automatically for analytics, stability and advertising:
- Device and technical information: device model, manufacturer, operating system version, screen characteristics, language and region settings, time zone, network connection type, App version and build number.
- Pseudonymous identifiers: app instance identifier, advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS — the latter only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission), push notification token.
- Usage events: screens viewed, features used (scan started, page cropped, document exported, filter applied), session duration, taps and gestures for user-experience heatmaps and session replays, and interactions with the paywall.
- Crash and diagnostic data: stack traces, error logs, device state at the moment of a crash.
- Purchase data: anonymous subscriber identifier, product purchased, purchase and renewal status, transaction receipts validated by our payments provider.
- Approximate location derived from IP address / country-level region for analytics and ad relevance. We do not collect precise GPS location.
Session replay and interaction analytics record how you navigate the App interface. The content of your scanned documents is not part of that data.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core functionality: capturing, cropping, enhancing, storing, converting to PDF, printing and sharing documents.
- To keep the App stable — detecting, diagnosing and fixing crashes and bugs.
- To understand which features are used and how, so we can improve the experience.
- To manage premium subscriptions, restore purchases and verify entitlements.
- To display advertisements that keep the free version of the App available.
- To deliver push notifications and important service messages, when you allow them.
- To remotely configure features, prices and experiments without requiring a new App update, and to deliver over-the-air updates of the App code.
- To measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
Device Permissions
The App requests only the permissions it needs, and each one is requested at the moment the corresponding feature is used. You may deny or revoke any permission in your device settings; the related feature will simply stop working.
- Camera — required to photograph and digitize your documents. The camera is used exclusively while a scanning screen is open. We never access the camera in the background.
- Photo Library (read) — optional. Lets you import a photo you already took instead of capturing a new one. We access only the images you explicitly select.
- Photo Library (add / save) — optional. Lets you save a scanned document back to your photo gallery.
- Notifications — optional. Used to send you reminders, feature announcements and service messages.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS) — optional. If you allow it, the advertising identifier may be used to make ads and suggestions more relevant. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
- Internet / Network access — required for ads, analytics, subscriptions, remote configuration and updates.
- Advertising ID (Android) — used by the advertising and analytics services described below.
The App does not request microphone, contacts, calendar or precise location access.
Advertising
The free version of the App is supported by advertising delivered through Google AdMob. Ads may appear as banners, interstitials, native placements or rewarded formats.
- Ads may be personalized (based on the advertising identifier and inferred interests) or non-personalized, depending on your consent and platform settings.
- On iOS, personalized ads are shown only if you allow tracking through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization", in your device settings.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent message is displayed and your choices govern how ads are personalized.
- Purchasing the premium subscription removes advertising from the App.
Advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to measure ad performance and attribute installs. You can learn more and adjust your Google ad settings at Google Ad Settings.
Subscriptions and Payments
The App offers optional premium subscriptions and/or one-time purchases. All transactions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We never receive or store your credit card number, bank details or billing address.
We use RevenueCat to validate receipts and manage entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous subscriber identifier, your purchase and renewal status, the store transaction identifier, and basic device/country information. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each one processes data according to its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read:
- Google AdMob — advertising, ad measurement and attribution.
- Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — usage and event analytics.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting and stability diagnostics.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications.
- Firebase Remote Config — remote feature and pricing configuration.
- Firebase Authentication — anonymous or optional sign-in used to identify an app installation.
- Cloud Firestore — storage of app configuration and non-document application data.
- Google Play Services — core platform services on Android.
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
- Microsoft Clarity — session replay, heatmaps and user-experience analytics.
- Meta (Facebook SDK) — marketing campaign attribution and measurement.
- TikTok Ads (Events SDK) — marketing campaign attribution and measurement.
- Expo — application framework, insights and over-the-air updates.
- Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and app review prompts.
We do not control how these providers process data once it is transmitted to them, and we recommend reviewing their policies for opt-out mechanisms.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only in the limited circumstances below:
- With the service providers listed above, strictly so they can perform their function for us.
- When you actively export, print, e-mail or share a document — the recipient app or person you choose receives that file.
- To comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, court order or governmental authority.
- To protect our rights, safety, property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change in ownership.
We never sell your personal data and we never share the content of your scanned documents with anyone.
Data Retention
Scanned documents remain on your device until you delete them individually or uninstall the App. Analytics and crash data are retained by our providers for their standard retention periods (typically between 2 and 26 months) and are then deleted or aggregated. Purchase records are retained for as long as required by tax and accounting obligations.
International Data Transfers
The third-party services used by the App may process and store data on servers located in the United States, the European Union and other countries. These providers rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect data transferred outside your country of residence.
Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to request portability. Under the GDPR (Europe), the LGPD (Brazil), the CCPA/CPRA (California) and similar laws, you may exercise these rights free of charge.
Practical choices available to you at any time:
- Revoke camera, photo library or notification permissions in your device settings.
- Change or revoke tracking consent in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.
- Delete individual documents inside the App, or uninstall the App to remove all local data.
- Contact us at marjmsm@proton.me to exercise any of the rights above. We respond within 30 days.
Account Deletion and Data Deletion
The App does not require you to create a user account, so there is no account profile to delete. Even so, in accordance with Apple App Store and Google Play requirements, you can request deletion of all data associated with your app installation at any time.
- Delete your documents: remove them one by one inside the App, or uninstall the App — uninstalling permanently erases every scan, PDF and setting stored locally. This action cannot be undone.
- Request deletion of analytics, advertising and subscription data: send an e-mail to marjmsm@proton.me with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Include the platform (iOS or Android) and, if available, the app instance identifier shown in the App's settings or support screen so we can locate the correct records.
- We will process the request and instruct our providers to delete the corresponding data within 30 days, except for information we are legally required to retain (for example, purchase and tax records).
Children's Privacy
Escanear Documentos is a productivity utility intended for a general audience of users aged 13 and over (16 in some jurisdictions). It is not directed to children and it is not designed, marketed or categorized as a children's app.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us at marjmsm@proton.me and we will delete that information and any associated records promptly.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
- Scanned documents are stored in the App's private, sandboxed storage area, which other apps on the device cannot read.
- All communication with our providers uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.
- We collect the minimum data necessary and use pseudonymous identifiers instead of directly identifying information.
- Payment data is handled entirely by Apple and Google and never reaches our systems.
We recommend protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID or fingerprint, since anyone with access to your unlocked device can open the App and view your scanned documents. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, in our providers, or in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where required, notify you inside the App or through the app stores. Continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
